I’ve always believed in the power of one person. One steady presence, one calm voice, one grounded energy to completely shape a moment.

AT THE HEART OF MY WORK…

You can be in the same room, with the same people, doing the same thing… but who holds the space matters. Deeply. And that belief sits at the heart of everything I do as a celebrant.

Sharni - Gold Coast Celebrant

Hi, I’m Sharni

Honouring life’s chapters, one ceremony at a time.

I stand alongside you through some of the most meaningful, emotional, joyful, and tender moments of your lives.

I work across weddings, funerals & farewells, and life’s many in-between moments that don't always fit neatly into a box. Different ceremonies carry different emotions, but the core of my role never changes: to create and hold a space that feels safe, grounded, meaningful, and truly reflective of the people at the centre of it.

My path to this work is shaped by both lived and professional experience.

Three joyful people standing outdoors, the woman on the left wearing a white dress and veil, holding a bouquet, the woman in the middle wearing a patterned dress, and the man on the right in a suit raising his fist in celebration.

I’ve known profound love, joy, grief, resilience, identity, and family in many forms. I experienced significant loss at a young age, which quietly, deeply shaped the way I understand space, tenderness, and the weight that moments can hold.

Alongside my personal experiences, I’ve spent years working in high-responsibility, emotionally complex professional environments, spaces where care, vulnerability, planning, pressure, people, and presence all intersect. That background has gifted me with a strong trauma-aware lens, a calm nervous system under pressure, and a deep respect for how differently people move through life’s biggest moments.

Public speaking has been part of me for as long as I can remember (my family say I inherited it from my grandfather, who knows). Somewhere along the way, what terrifies most people became the place I feel most aligned: standing in front of others, holding the room, and giving voice to moments that matter. It doesn’t feel like performing to me, it feels like service and being exactly where I’m meant to be.

I don’t rush moments.
I don’t minimise them.
I hold them.

LOVE, IDENTITY & INCLUSION | IT’S A LIVED VALUE

Equality, inclusion, and cultural respect are not add-ons in my work, they are foundational.

I am in a same-sex relationship. I’ve lived and travelled across different parts of the world. I’ve witnessed how love, commitment, grief, and ritual can look beautifully different across cultures, families, and identities. To me, identity is layered and human, and every person deserves to feel completely seen, safe, and honoured within their ceremony space.

A wedding ceremony on the steps of a building with two women and a man. The man and a woman are holding hands and looking at each other. The woman in a white wedding dress has a long train, and the man is in a black tuxedo. A woman in a brown dress is speaking into a microphone. Two women are playing string instruments in the background. Flowers are arranged at the top and bottom of the stairs.

MY APPROACH

My approach is story-led, personal, and always guided by who you are, not by templates, trends, or expectations.

I care just as much about the quiet, subtle moments as I do the big, joy-filled ones. I believe ceremonies can be calm and grounding, or vibrant and full of energy. Sometimes they’re both. There is no “right” way, only what feels true to you.

And because organisation is genuinely one of my love languages (hello Virgo), I bring a level of structure, clarity, and calm that allows your entire experience feel seamless and stress-free. From paperwork to process, timelines to tone, you get grounded guidance without the overwhelm.

I work across weddings, funerals & farewells, namings, and life’s many in-between moments, the ones that don’t always fit neatly into a box. If you are looking for a ceremony that is not listed, please reach out here.

Beyond The Ceremony Space

  • I’m a mum, soaking in all the moments with my beautiful family. Nature walks, donut dates, cosy nights in, I love it all.

  • I have a deep need for movement, early morning walks, time on the reformer, or anything that gets me out of my head and into my body.

  • I’m a self professed lover of cold drinks… iced coffee, strawberry milk, cold-pressed juice and matcha all have my name on them.

  • I’m known as being a plant whisperer with a thriving jungle at home.

  • I’m Virgo sun, organised, detail-oriented, list-loving (yes, all the stereotypes apply), along with my Scorpio Rising & Sagittarius Moon bringing depth and fun to everything I do.

  • I’m the enthusiastic sous-chef to my partner’s culinary magic in the kitchen.

  • A lover of early starts, meaningful conversations, good playlists, and spaces that feel both grounded and alive.

And while I’m calm, that doesn’t mean dull here. I adore high-vibe, laughter-filled, joy-soaked ceremonies just as much as the quiet, candle-lit ones.
